The Holiday Train Show at the New York Botanical Garden
Opens to the public on Saturday, 19 November 2022

Just a few more days, and then the holiday train show at the New York Botanical Garden
opens with fantasy and fun for one and all: young children, their parents, grandparents too.
If you envision Lionel trains chugging in a circle under the Christmas tree - well, think again.

These are bigger, more wonderful, more fantastic than merely going in circles.

Just as fractals have symmetry based on size and scale instead of left and right,
a model of the conservatory is on display inside the actual glass house building.

The trains chug through the lush tropical growth in the Enid Haupt Conservatory.

Take a closer look at the library building in the previous image. These buildings
are made not of stone and steel but instead of bark and branches, leaves, pods,
and all sorts of plant parts that elves and fairies, gnomes and dwarves might use.

These fanciful buildings replicate actual structures you'd see around and about the city.
